What might be happening

It sounds like you may be experiencing a combination of hormonal changes and possible gastrointestinal issues. Here are some possibilities:

  1. Hormonal Imbalance: Removing a birth control implant can lead to hormonal fluctuations, which might explain the irregular bleeding, mood swings, and abdominal pain. Hormonal changes can also affect your appetite and weight.

  2. Gastrointestinal Issues: The changes in stool color and abdominal pain could suggest a digestive issue. Stress and anxiety can also impact your digestive system.

  3. Infection or Inflammation: The presence of blood in discharge and abdominal pain could indicate an infection or inflammation, which might require medical evaluation.

What you can do

For Vaginal Bleeding and Discharge:

  • Monitor the bleeding and discharge. If it worsens or persists, consult a healthcare provider.
  • Maintain good hygiene and consider wearing breathable cotton underwear.

For Abdominal Pain:

  • Try over-the-counter pain relief like ibuprofen, but consult your doctor first, especially given your medications.
  • Apply a warm compress to your abdomen to help ease cramps.

For Mood Swings and Anxiety:

  • Practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or yoga.
  • Keep a journal of your symptoms using MDandMe to track patterns and share with your provider.

For Digestive Issues:

  • Maintain a balanced diet with plenty of fiber to help regulate your digestion.
  • Stay hydrated and avoid foods that trigger discomfort.

What you should look out for

Seek medical attention if you experience:

  • Severe or worsening abdominal pain.
  • Heavy or prolonged bleeding.
  • Signs of infection, such as fever or foul-smelling discharge.
  • Significant changes in mood or mental health.

Remember, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
