What might be happening

Based on the information you have provided, there are several possibilities:

  • Fibromyalgia Flare-Up: Given your history of fibromyalgia, the widespread body pain and fatigue could be a flare-up of this condition. Fibromyalgia is known to cause widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, and tenderness in localized areas.

    • Treatment typically involves a combination of medications, exercise, stress management, and healthy lifestyle habits.
  • POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) Flare-Up: POTS is a condition that affects circulation and can cause lightheadedness, fainting, and rapid heartbeat. Your reported symptoms of weakness, dizziness, and chest discomfort could be related to this condition.

    • Treatment typically involves lifestyle changes and medications to manage symptoms.
  • Viral Illness: Symptoms such as body aches, chills, fatigue, and nausea can be caused by a viral illness, such as the flu or a common cold.

    • Treatment typically involves rest, hydration, and over-the-counter remedies to manage symptoms.
  • Anxiety or Panic Attack: Anxiety can cause a variety of physical symptoms, including chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea, and body aches. Given your history of POTS, which can sometimes be associated with anxiety disorders, this is a possibility.

    • Treatment typically involves a combination of therapy, stress management techniques, and medication.

Please note that these are possible explanations based on the information you provided, but they are not definitive. It's important to consult with a healthcare provider for a formal diagnosis.

What you can do

  1. Rest and hydrate: If you're feeling unwell, it's important to rest and stay hydrated. This can help your body recover and manage symptoms.

  3. Seek medical attention: Given the severity and sudden onset of your symptoms, it's important to seek medical attention as soon as possible. This is especially important given your history of fibromyalgia and POTS.

I also have similar pain everywhere and diagnosis of fibromyalgia. I'm 27. Very unsatisfying. Doctor says its not life-threatening and does not reduce life expectancy but I've yet to find a medication that helps and I'm in pain a lot of the time. I keep on switching rheumatologists, psychiatrists, and pcps but nobody seems to be able to provide me adequate answers. What has worked for you, if anything?
