Hello and Happy February!
In 2025, the MDandMe team is more excited than ever about creating the future of personalized healthcare. Recently, the Engineering team picked a few key areas where product could be improved, as a sort of New Year's resolution. Right before the end of 2024, web users will notice we released a new suite of improvements to the web version of MDandMe. Now, after great usage and feedback we're excited to bring it to the iOS app as well:
Everybody's Talking: Conversational Chat Improvements
In previous versions, Arora (our medical assistant AI) was sometimes confused if a user wanted to change the topic or ask for clarification. With our new conversational assessment, you can talk to Arora like a real person. Now it should be easier than ever to ask Arora to explain test results, check if something interferes with your current medications, or simply keep track of how you're feeling.
Don't You Forget About Me: Advanced Memory
Far more than a simple chatbot, MDandMe keeps a detailed records of your medical history over time, both from derived from conversations and by using the SnapChart page. Our latest updates to memory let Arora recall prior conversations in more detail, so information is always tailored to your specific profile. Arora will also use memory to inquire about your ongoing conditions when starting a new chat.
Life in the Fast Lane: Streamlined Navigation
As MDandMe gains more users, we see patterns emerge in how our product is used. With the latest version of our web app, we cut out interstitial pages and improved page performance. Features like the Timeline, which used to rely on a standalone page, are now part of an enhanced navigation UI. By porting our app over to next.js we have minimized page re-render while navigating, and made community post pages easier to find via search engine.
You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet
If you aren't on iOS (or any family or friends), look our for the MDandMe Android app coming soon!
With all that being said, some of the most exciting updates to MDandMe are on the horizon. We are thrilled with the reception our work has received, and feel privileged to help so many people in their health journeys. It inspires us to build even better and more revolutionary tools to accomplish our mission. While I can't reveal everything just yet, I can say that our roadmap for the next year includes some huge undertakings to help more people than ever make sense of their health.
